So we’re talking about filtration, we talked about filtration, I’m talking about reverse as Moses couldn’t even straight into some adding stuff back in with the alkalinity and stuff like that and the water supply. What I want to talk about now. So that’s all
Speaker 2: 00:14
perfect.
Speaker 1: 00:17
That is all point of views. Thank you.
Speaker 1: 00:23
That is all more or less point of use. Okay. So in our home you’re, you’re driving. Okay. How do I want the water to be drinking? Water’s gonna be the requirements for drinking water are probably going to be different than the requirements for laundry. Water. Warewashing dishwashing water might be a little bit different than my spot free rinse for my in my garage or my car, stuff like that. So I can have all manner of different products and I can do. Exactly, yes. You too can make a cool car wash tunnel in your garage if you wanted to.
Speaker 2: 01:02
Hello.
Speaker 1: 01:03
Which just cartridges spot free wrenches and all kinds of different stuff. It’s not difficult. They’re using the same stuff that we’ve been talking about today. I can either address all of those individual things with point of use components or I can treat all the water coming into the facility which is called point of entry. All right, point of entry. Now, point of entry typically is going to require larger pieces of equipment. One of the things that’s not on there, because this is a filtration presentation, but point of venture, he is going to be larger and it has to be able to handle the flow and capacity to treat the whole home. Where are you all usually graduate to? When you do that is you’re going to start to get into filters and operating systems that regenerate or backwash themselves. They require a valve on top and it just so happens a pet there.
Speaker 1: 02:06
Okay, so you have a valve multiport valve on top of the tank. Our filter media is inside the tank. This valve is going to allow us to make this system regenerate or clean itself and then handle the flows to be able to treat the whole house. That’s what this does. Everything we’ve talked about, particle filtration, chemical filtration, all of those things that we’re talking about, catalytic oxidation, we’re all we’re doing is we’re stepping up into a bigger format so that we can provide higher flows in higher capacities. Now we need a valve on top of the tank. Right, so that’s what this does. This is a valve a. This is our newest family of als. This is actually the largest residential valve that we made. This is the 58, 12. It’s an inch and a quarter valve maybe. Okay. Largest battle. I don’t know if that’s necessarily correct. It’s the flowing performance residential vow that we manufactured this valve and low 40 gallons per minute at 15 psi drop. Okay. That’s just numbers, right?
Speaker 1: 03:13
It’s not just about how much flow can do. Remember when I said that 25 gallons per minute could go through that cartridge. It’s not that I necessarily do it, but here’s the thing. Putting eight gallons per minute through something I can do, 25, putting eight gallons per minute through it is going to be a lot better experience than trying to jam eight gallons per minute through that little standard sized cartridge. Right. Putting 10 gallons or 12 gallons per minute through this is going to be a lot better experience than putting 10, 12 gallons per minute through a one inch or a three quarter inch valve. Going to be less pressure drop a lot more capability. Okay. 58, 12. Pretty cool. So this is the valve multiport gives me the ability to do anything I want to do on a system that periodically when I want that system to regenerate or do what it needs to do, it will automatically do it because of how it’s programmed and how it operates. I can know there’s a whole bunch. This is the SDR format. I just want to show you how easy it is. Okay, so it’s going to hold on.
Speaker 1: 04:19
Pretty smart. It finds its own home position. If I took it apart, put it back together again. You will have the intelligence to know. I should probably check out if I’m at home or not. Look around and they’re tickets out back home. That’s what it just did. If you had to cycle it, what happens is this. There’s a couple of things that need to happen in a water treatment system in order for it to operate correctly. I can flow. I can put stuff in a tank and there’s in and out heads. There’s people who are putting carbon in the tank. We just did it in our head and they put it on the side of the house and they run it until it’s dead and then they replace it. If I put a valve on here, I can reinvigorate that bed every week, every 10 days, and instead of pulling it out in a month or three months, I can have it sitting there for five, 10 years doing what it’s supposed to do.
Speaker 1: 05:04
It might take a little bit of water to do that, but at least I’m not having somebody, a service agents come up, pull it out, put in a new one in and out and all that stuff. Actually, I’ve been fixing itself. This is all stuff that happened. Flux been around since, like I said, in the late seventies, so this automatic bowel stuff isn’t new, but it was a big leap forward from where we were. Now we’ve got things that can do initiations off of metering is counting gallons. It’s doing everything it’s supposed to do and you’ll actually do it on demand. When I asked you, I can even have something from the outside say, oh wait, your filters really overloaded. I’ve got higher pressure on the end. I’ve got higher pressure on the inlet. Then I do the outlet. Your filters overloaded. I’m going to send a signal to this and you backwash right now.
Speaker 1: 05:45
There’s all kinds of smart stuff that this valve will do. That’s of these things that are around the valve are going to be easily accessible, minimal, and these are a lot of things that are service agents always going to have to be looking for. They go out and site. Something’s happening. I got to check these things. One of the primary things that is going to be checked quite a bit, especially on a water softener, is with the injector housing. All I need to do is leverage off this balloon clip and this blue clip holds everything in under pressure. It locks in place when ever the vowels and service, so you can’t just pull it out and then blam water’s flying all over the place. You don’t have to worry about that. I’m inside the injector housing. Now all I have to do is leverage off the the cap.
Speaker 1: 06:31
Once I get that cap out, I get the cap out. Now I can access the injector housing very easily. The Blue Clit is actually a tool that I can take the injector out and take a look. So this injector is responsible for creating draw during regeneration. This is what creates the draw during regeneration. So what’s regeneration? Let’s walk through water softener and how it works. Ion Exchange is all about we’re softening the water, we’re taking bad scaling things out of the water and, and, and, and okay, I’m going to be redundant and exchanging them for non scaling components. So guys, so what are you going to use in water softener when you sodium chloride, salt, sodium does not form hard scale on surfaces. What does calcium, magnesium, calcium and magnesium,
Speaker 1: 07:31
calcium, magnesium form up with carbonates and sulfates and they formed scale on surfaces, so what I want to do is take out the calcium and the magnesium and really and an exchange put in sodium, so a softener, but all it’s doing, it is not filtering. It’s not really a true filter. It’s not stopping stuff from passing through. It’s not removing things from the water as much as it is saying, I will take this and then exchange to maintain balance. Give you this. I’m taking calcium and magnesium out of the water like a magnet, pulling it out of the water and then kicking off sodium in exchange. That’s what I’m doing. When that all gets loaded up and I’m exhausted, I need to do that reverse and when I’m out of sodium in my resume, now I need to put sodium back onto the resume. The only way I can do that is with sodium chloride or assault and you don’t have to use sodium.
Speaker 1: 08:30
You can use potassium. Potassium, it’s a lot more expensive. It’s usually five, six times more expensive than sodium chloride, but some people have sensitivities to sodium and their diet, right? They’re hypertensive. They have doctors. Orders got to minimize the sodium in their diet and that’s fine because you can use potassium to do the same thing. Calcium chloride, it’s a. you’ll see a bunch of different brand names and for that kind of salt you can do it the same. I would caution that in this area you’re probably going to have issues because of temperature swings. Potassium chloride has a difference in how much it dissolves in water based on temperature, so I in the middle of the day, when it’s 100 degrees in the car in the garage and you’re dissolve in potassium chloride like nobody’s business, and that night when it was 60 degrees or 50 degrees in the garage, it falls out and precipitation because the water gets colder and you get a block of potassium chloride on the bottom of the brine tank that can cause a problem.
Speaker 1: 09:31
Um, Arizona, Texas places with high temperature variations like that. Florida maybe not so much because it’s so humid that the temperature swings aren’t as up and down like that. But the thing is then you’ve got high humidity. There’s all bunch of stuff that goes into that. There’s ways to make the valve works so that you can reduce the challenges that caused that, but okay, sodium or potassium, I’m exchanging this item sucks in the salt water. In order to do regeneration, this creates adventury that draws in the salt water to put down into the tank. If this is not clean or it’s obstructed or it’s filed are broken anyway, that’s what you need to check. So primary thing of the water softener is that it needs to draw. Brian, you’re always looking here first. Okay. The main thing I want to get across is forest service agent. Getting to it is very easy. I just pry out the clip, pull out a cap and I’m at it versus removing a bunch of screws, taking off a compression, not and then removing components and stuff like that. Very easy.
